Our Sanctuary

Our Sanctuary

We are a micro-sanctuary and retreat center located in West Point, VA, home to stunning nineteenth and early twentieth century architecture overlaid on extensive American Indian heritage. At the confluence of the Mattaponi and Pamunkey Rivers, the site formerly known as Cinquoteck grew into a pint-sized town in King William County where cyclists and hikers mingle easily with history buffs and honeymooners.

We visited West Point and quickly fell in love with the area, determined to make it our home. In summer 2017, we purchased our dream property with a vision of creating a small sanctuary-retreat combination to offer refuge to our rescued animals and inspiration and rejuvenation to our human friends. The house and grounds are truly stunning – the perfect way to relax, reconnect, and just breathe in the healing vibes that nature and the animals provide. Having roots in the local area guided our decision, but the feel of the property is what made it absolutely the perfect venue for a sanctuary and retreat. And since moving in, we’ve been working diligently to make it into Grateful Meadows.
