FAQs

What is a micro-sanctuary?

A small piece of safety and love! At its heart, our micro-sanctuary is everything that the big, well-known organizations are: a place where all creatures – human and non-human – can find peace, freedom, love, and compassion. We’re small and our goal isn’t to have hundreds of animal residents and huge tracts of land. But we have five beautiful acres in which our rescues can live out their lives and just be themselves – funny, goofy, brave, and surrounded by kindness.

The other part of our mission is to bring like-minded, compassionate people together so they can bond, re-fill their own hearts and minds, and get to know a few animals very well.

We can’t wait to introduce you to them! Come visit us soon!

What kinds of events can I hold at the retreat center?

Come to one of our events or host your own. Private events include bridal or birthday parties, corporate retreats, fundraisers, health and wellness retreats, painting and photography courses, or pretty much anything else you can think of! Contact us with your questions or for more information.

May I bring my own companion animals to the retreat?

For the safety and well being of all the residents at Grateful Meadows, we are not currently hosting companion animals.

Do you offer wifi?

Yes!

I have a very specific diet – can I request ‘unusual’ food options?

We will try to cater to most diets but we are a 100% vegan venue. If you have specific dietary restrictions let us know before making your reservation and we will try to cater to your needs.

May I bring non-vegan food onto the property?

No, out of respect to our residents we ask that you do not bring any animal products to Grateful Meadows.

How do I make a reservation for my event?

You can do it right here – under Private Events!

Do you offer discounts for non-profits/seniors/veterans/children?

Yes, we are thrilled to offer discounted prices to nonprofit employees.

What else is there to do in the area?

It all depends what kind of visitor you are! Like the outdoors? Sampling local flavors? History? Shopping? We have a little of everything, so check out our ‘Local Attractions.’

How can I best support your work?

Get involved by coming to an event! If distance or scheduling means that doesn’t work for you, follow us on Facebook, and  sponsor a resident.

Can I volunteer at Grateful Meadows?

Yes, we can’t wait to meet you! Simply fill out a volunteer form and tell us about yourself.

Do you offer animal care internships at Grateful Meadows?

Not at this time but it’s a question we are considering.

If I sign up for your newsletter, will you bombard me with email and/or sell my details to third parties?

We send out monthly emails to keep you updated on all the barnyard gossip but we’ll never spam you or sell your details to anyone else. We don’t like it when folks break our trust so we’ll never do it to you either!

How can I find you on social media?

Easy! Scroll down the page and click on one of the fancy ‘social media’ icons in the footer. The magic of the interwebs will take it from there!
